Civil Engineering Technicians provide vital technical support to engineers and other construction professionals in all stages of the built environment and infrastructure. In a variety of practical settings, you'll learn how to design technical solutions, analyse and solve technical problems, deliver a project on time and on budget, and ensure sites are operating safely and producing at a high quality.
This broad skill set opens you to up a number of exciting and important areas, including sustainable construction, structural integrity, geotechnics, materials, tunnelling, marine and coastal engineering, water, waste management, flood management, transportation, and power.

What do you need to apply?
You will be expected to have at least 5 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English, Maths and Science, and Maths at Grade 5 or above (or their equivalent).

How will you be assessed?
There will be a combination of multiple choice and written exams, portfolio work, interviews and practical assessments.
To be successful you must pass the Presentation and Structured Interview. This assessment will satisfy the requirements for registration as an Engineering Technician by the Engineering Council. The Assessor Panel will consist of two experienced, qualified, and trained Civil Engineers.

After successfully completing your apprenticeship you could move into site management roles or specialise in certain construction areas.
