The Level 3 Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity (Sports Coaching) is designed to give you the practical skills, scientific knowledge, and in-depth understanding you'll need for a successful and rewarding career in the sport and physical activity sector.
This course can increase your professional accreditation for progressing directly to employment, or can provide the perfect platform for advancement on to further training, Higher Education, and BSc (Hons) study.

What do you need to apply?
5 GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) at grade C or 4 or above or Equivalent Level 2 vocational qualification at merit/pass or above.

How will you be assessed?
The Level 3 Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity (Sports Coaching) carries the following UCAS points:
- Distinction*: 84
- Distinction: 72
- Merit: 48
- Pass: 24
You will be graded via an internally assessed and externally quality assured portfolio of evidence, which you will create in a variety of ways, including practical tasks, assignments and coursework.
Innovative assessment methods can include video production, audio commentary, report writing, leaflet and brochure creation, web page development, professional discussion, practical and physical assignments, and interactive presentations.

Where can this course take you?
This course could lead directly to employment in the sport, health, and fitness industries, especially in coaching-based roles; or can provide the opportunity for further study and training, including a number of National Governing Body (NGB) Coaching qualifications.
After successfully passing the Level 3 Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity (Sports Coaching), you may wish to consider gaining further qualifications, and ultimately progressing to one of the following undergraduate degrees available at London South Bank University (additional qualifications may be required):
