If your goal is to become a fully-qualified electrician or electrical engineer, either by securing an apprenticeship or by progressing on to further qualifications at college, then this course is the ideal starting point for you to spark your ambition into life.
The Level 1 Electrical Installation will provide you with hands-on practical training in a number of introductory skills and techniques, and will also develop your knowledge of health, safety, and correct working practices, for both construction sites and domestic dwellings.
You will be taught about the safe and correct way to install wiring and terminals, fabrication techniques for electrical installations, site preparation, and electrical science and technology. Alongside this, you will also learn about the structure of the construction industry, and environmental and sustainability measures when working in a domestic setting. The practical hands-on training sessions and projects you undertake in our new, modern, well-equipped workshops will teach you how to carry out basic electrical tasks. No matter what your electro-technical career goals are, this course will give you the grounding to achieve them.
Throughout your course, you will take part in vocationally-based projects. You will enjoy regular relevant professional visits and take part in real-life work experience giving you the extra skills and knowledge needed in your chosen field. You will also have an opportunity during the year to work towards gaining your CSCS card.
This course is part of a two-part programme. You will begin the year training in Electrical Installation and finish with Plumbing.

Entry Level 3 or GCSE grade 3 and above English and Maths qualification Additional Information: If you do not have certificates to evidence your past achievements, you will have to sit an initial assessment in English and maths.
